Facebook is something usually just thought of as a social media that people join to chat on. You will be very surprised to learn that if used properly it can be an excellent marketing tool.
Start a new Facebook account, don't use your personal Facebook account, the one with all your friends. Create a Facebook purposely for promoting business oriented people.
Whether advertising on YouTube, Twitter, Forums, or anywhere else, add your Facebook link. If people don't want to sign up to your business at this time, they may add you to their Facebook account. You can also see the friends of other marketers and add up to 50 people daily without Facebook banning your account.
Facebook will now give you leads! Facebook starts to recommend people for you depending on how many mutual friends you have. If you have 200 Facebook friends and they are business oriented and they have a hundred or more of the same friends as you, you can rest assured that they are a marketer like you. This is the reason you should start a new Facebook account then you can still keep and use your original Facebook account to communicate with your friends and family.
Facebook is also great to use if you have emails prepared and dont want to SPAM people. Put those emails into your Facebook in the "add friends box" when you are adding friends. This way you can type links daily on your own wall and all the people that have accepted your friend invitations will see it. This works very much like an opt-in list.
Once you have 200 to 400 marketing friends you will start to see results and sign ups. I can tell you this from personal experience.
As a bonus, you can link your Facebook and Twitter accounts. To do this while logged into Facebook. Click on the "search" box and type in "Twitter". Find the application and install it. Now whenever you post a message on Twitter it will also show up on your Facebook account.
